HISTORY MAKING SEASON!!! sticky icon

LADY WARRIORS:

"ELITE EIGHT"

Final Ranking in AJC Poll: 8th in AAAAA

The Lady Warriors season record ended up at 22 and 9 (all 9 losses coming to 3 schools) - with a big disappointment in the "Elite Eight" matchup at Ft. Valley State University with their Region 4AAAAA foe Hillgrove losing to the Lady Hawks 57 to 33.  The outstanding guard play and the big center of the Lady Hawks were just too much for the Lady Warriors especially after falling behind so early in the 1st quarter.  The Lady Warriors never gave up by fighting back to come with one at 13 to 12 but it was all downhill after that.  Taylor Gordon led the Lady Warriors with 21 points and Amber Reeves, Briah Woods and the rest of the squad gave it all they had in the loss.  What a season for Coach Williams and the young Lady Warriors - no one expected them to advance to the "Elite Eight" for the 2nd straight year with a roster filled with only 2 Seniors - good luck to Lanisha Mitchell and Siera Robinson  - 4 Juniors - 2 Sophomores and 5 Freshman!  Next season starts now and I am sure that the coaching staff is already thinking about what can be done next year to keep the Lady Warrior program one of the best in the State!   Great job Lady Warriors - the Warrior Nation is extremely proud of you!

Under the guidance of Head Coach Matt Williams in his 7th season (139 wins - 19.9 wins per season) at the helm of the Lady Warrior program the girls secured their 5th straight trip to the State tournament - 3rd straight trip to the "Sweet 16" - second straight to the "Elite Eight" and their 4th straight 20 win season and along with his coaching staff have built one of the best girls programs in the State!!

WARRIORS:

REGION 4AAAAA CHAMPS -

"ELITE EIGHT"

Final Ranking in AJC Poll: 4th in AAAAA

The Warriors season came to a end in Ft. Valley in their first ever "Elite Eight" appearance in the GHSA State Tournament to the Savannah Blue Jackets 59 to 43!  The Warriors ended up with a record of 26 and 5  - winning the Johnson High Holiday Tournament - the Deep South Classic at Brookwood and the Region 4AAAAA Championship!!  The game against Savannah was a lot closer than the score shows - until one of their top players fouled out in the 4th quarter - at the 5:00 minute mark in the 4th the Warriors were up by 1 - but when Lee Moore fouled out the Warriors were outscored 17 to 2 the rest of the way!  Once again the Warriors were led by Saxon Steele, Lee Moore and Jordan Neff (suffered a twisted ankle in the first half) and the rest of the Warriors - Dennis Young-Coleman, Jon Beasejour, John Cable and Armani Jackson.  With a taste of the State Tournament action I am sure the Warriors will work extremely hard to get back to the post season - they are only losing 3 Seniors - John Cable, Armani Jackson and Neil Shah - good luck to the Seniors!

Head Coach Terry Gorsuch reached the 20 win level for the 1st time in his 13 years at North Cobb (came close several times).  Coach Gorsuch now has 203 wins (15.5 wins per season) and what a way to get his 200th win as the North Cobb Head Coach with a Region Championship!!
